Shamel Dexter Proctor, like many people during the 2008–2009 housing crisis, encountered a profound financial setback that would ultimately reshape the course of his life. Poor investment decisions led to the loss of his most significant asset—a four-bedroom rental condo—forcing him to confront the consequences of inadequate financial knowledge. This challenging period became a turning point. 

Determined to prevent similar outcomes for himself and others, Shamel immersed himself in financial education. He enrolled in a prestigious Trading Academy, where he trained under elite Wall Street traders in global finance. This intensive experience reshaped his perspective, leading him to complete courses in advanced Professional Stock Traders and earn certifications as a Professional Foreign Exchange Trader.

Building on this foundation, Shamel transitioned into the financial services sector. He obtained his 0214 – LIFE INCL VARIABLE ANNUITY license and now operates as a licensed Life Insurance Agent and Wealth Management Consultant through his firm, SDP Financial. Specializing in private wealth management and family office-style services, he guides clients on a range of financial instruments, including compound interest strategies, 401(k) rollovers, and beginner-level cryptocurrency consultations to name a few. Working with a professional team, he has the support to guide those that are interested in taking their financial path in the right direction.

He channeled his artistic talents into building a successful Destination Beach Wedding Music Service in Florida. Mello Vibes Entertainment has flourished for over 23 years, providing memorable soundtracks for countless celebrations, and is a trusted name in the Florida destination beach wedding and events industry.
